One jar carries the whole warm, sweet-spice character of fall baking: Ceylon cinnamon, ginger, clove, allspice, and nutmeg, ground fresh and balanced so no single spice shouts. Stir it into pie and cookie dough, whisk it into oatmeal or a latte, or shake it over roasted squash and sweet potatoes. It works far beyond pumpkin pie, anywhere you want cozy, rounded warmth.

The common complaint with grocery blends is a heavy hand on clove. We keep ours balanced, cinnamon-forward and rounded, with clove as a background note rather than the headline. Everything is stone-ground fresh in small batches in Portland, so the aroma is bright the moment you open the tin.

Ingredients: Ceylon Cinnamon, Ginger, Cloves, Allspice berries, Nutmeg. No salt, no sugar, no preservatives. Naturally gluten-free and vegan.

Common Questions

How much do I use in place of the separate spices a recipe lists?

Use the blend as a one-for-one stand-in for the combined warm spices. As a rule, add about one teaspoon of the blend for each teaspoon of cinnamon the recipe calls for, then drop the separately listed nutmeg, clove, ginger, and allspice. Taste the batter and adjust from there.

What do I do with it besides pie?

Treat it as a general sweet-spice blend. Stir it into oatmeal, pancake and waffle batter, cookies, cakes, and quick breads, or dust it over coffee, a latte, roasted squash, or sweet potatoes. It needs no kitchen at all to lift a bowl of yogurt or oatmeal.

Is it too clove-heavy?

No, that is exactly what we balanced against. Ours leans cinnamon-forward and rounded, with clove sitting in support rather than dominating. If you love a stronger clove edge, add a pinch of your own.

Does it contain sugar?

No. It is pure spice, with no sugar, salt, or fillers, so you control the sweetness in whatever you are making. That also lets it work in savory uses, like a rub for roasted squash.

How do I keep it fresh?

Store the tin sealed in a cool, dark cupboard away from heat and steam. Freshly ground spice holds its bright aroma for several months, so buy what you will bake through and keep the lid tight.
