A bright, citrusy cup with no caffeine and no sugar, naturally sweet enough to drink on its own: that is the idea behind this herbal tea. Lemongrass gives it a clean, lemony body, real lemon and orange peel add fragrant citrus top notes, and a little licorice root rounds it all out with a gentle, natural sweetness, no honey or sugar required. Steep it hot for a soothing, fragrant cup any time of day, or brew it strong and pour it over ice for a citrusy iced tea.
Because it is caffeine-free, it is as easy in the evening as in the morning, and the licorice root gives it a soft, throat-soothing quality that herbal-tea drinkers have valued for generations. It is a simple, whole-botanical blend of just four ingredients, with nothing artificial and no added sweeteners. We pack it fresh so the citrus oils stay aromatic.
Caffeine-free herbal tea. Whole botanicals, packed fresh. No sugar or artificial flavors.
Common Questions
How do I brew it?
How do I brew it?
Use one teaspoon per eight ounces of water. Heat fresh filtered water to around 200°F and pour it over the tea, then steep for five minutes for the best flavor, and use fresh leaves each time you brew. Since it is an herbal tea with no black or green tea in it, it will not turn bitter the way caffeinated teas can. For iced tea, brew it double-strength and pour over ice.
Does it have caffeine?
Does it have caffeine?
No. It is a caffeine-free herbal blend of lemongrass, lemon peel, orange peel, and licorice root, with no actual tea leaf, so you can enjoy it in the evening or before bed without the caffeine of black or green tea.
Is it sweet, even with no sugar added?
Is it sweet, even with no sugar added?
Yes, gently. The licorice root brings a natural sweetness that balances the tart citrus, so most people find they do not need to add any honey or sugar. If you prefer it sweeter, a touch of honey works nicely, but the blend is designed to taste bright and lightly sweet on its own.
What does it taste like?
What does it taste like?
Bright and citrus-forward: clean, lemony lemongrass up front, fragrant orange and lemon peel through the middle, and a soft, round sweetness from the licorice on the finish. It is refreshing rather than heavy, with no bitterness, which makes it equally good hot or iced.
Can I blend it or add to it?
Can I blend it or add to it?
Absolutely. It pairs well with a slice of fresh ginger or a sprig of mint added to the pot, a squeeze of lemon for extra brightness, or a spoonful of honey. It also makes a lovely base for a citrusy iced-tea spritzer with sparkling water.
